1/18/2024 0 Comments Flawless moissanite reddit![]() Well, I wouldn't tell most clients to buy diamonds rather than putting that money in their retirements funds or anything, but a diamond will definitely retain a much higher portion of its value than a moissanite. So ignore that as a factor, since it selling either won't make you much $ anyway. Diamonds have HORRIBLE resale value, and you don't buy a diamond in order to resell. Anyone who tells you to "invest" in a diamond is wrong (no offense to them). I've been super happy with it and definitely wouldn't want to go back to a diamond. My husband and I couldn't imagine spending 5K plus to get up to a 1ct stone, so I replaced it with a moissanite. I personally had a very well cut H&A diamond in my engagement ring, but wanted a larger center stone. But certainly not 17K, unless you're talking about a different setting than I saw online. If you were looking at the Harmony without any diamonds on the shank with 1ct, an "ideal" diamond in a gold setting like that (not the tiffany brand), would be more like 6K (ish). If I were you' I'd buy a loose moissanite (forever one is the whitest, and the new H&A cut is very diamond-like), and look at it under a variety of different lights to see what you think.īut I wouldn't go with Tiffany's directly because they overcharge immensely for what they have. Returns are really easy, so that isn't a problem. The higher end moissanite stones aren't in most stores, you'd need to order online from one of the reputable sites and then see what you think in person. So I think either going much down in size for a real diamond, or getting something in moissanite are your options. I'd look into some of the websites (, for example) and see what you/she think.īut there's no way to get a 1ct diamond stone that's decent for $1700, that's for sure. You'd be blown away by the colorless moissanite out right now-it's incredibly white, sparkly, and clean. If you are positive that she would be ok with a moissanite (you definitely need to ask her), then I'd go that route. I think it's really a personal preference more than anything. Where can I find some of the higher end stuff with great color? Where can I actually hold it in my hands near Indianapolis? Ideas? It had a 1ct G color, vvs1 for 17k! Wtf! I really screwed up bc she fell in love with it. We went into a Tiffany's just to size her and she really liked their Harmony setting. I have done much research on the subject of diamonds and she is not concerned with whether its real or not, just how good it looks. ![]() ![]() She would get upset if I spent more than $1700. She is petite and 1ct looked really nice on her finger. Ty!Įdit: Ty all so much for the input! We are looking at a round stone. Where can I see them instead of buying online. She wouldn't mind not having a real diamond. What are the drawbacks? The prices are much more attractive. She likes sparkle and is only really concerned with that. ![]() I am going to buy a ring for my gf and can't decide between a smaller diamond or a little larger Moissanite ring. ![]()
